I'll loan to you four cats He said
Dark as jet and ginger
For you to play with whilst you may,
and care for when they linger.
But with you, 'til I call them back,
take care of them for me.
Their characters will gladden you,
And should their stay be brief
You'll have their lovely memories
As solace for you grief.
I cannot promise they will stay
Since all from earth return,
But there are many things down there
I want these cats to learn,
I,ve looked this wide world over
In My search for owners true
and from the throngs that crowd life lines
I have selected you,
Now will you give them all your love
not think the labour vain
nor hate Me when I come to call
and take them back again?
I thought that I heard you say
"Yes Lord that is no problem,
For all the joy these cats will bring
the risk of grief we'll run.
We'll play with them with happiness,
We'll love them while we may.
And for the happiness we've known
For ever grateful stay"
